LADWP will provide notifications of significant matters or proposed actions by the Board of Water and Power Commission. Such actions include, but are not limited to, major policies or programs; changes in major policies or programs; significant projects, such as those requiring environmental impact documents; the upcoming fiscal year draft budget; and any proposed rate action.

NOTIFICATION NO. 1 - RON DEATON, LADWP GENERAL MANAGER RETIRES
Ron Deaton, LADWP General Manager for the past three years, announced his retirement in October. Mr. Deaton was instrumental in directing LADWP's development of an MOU with the Neighborhood Councils city-wide and led the Department into an era of increased environmental awareness and conservation. NOTIFICATION NO.2 - LADWP BOARD ELECTS NEW OFFICERS
At its regular meeting on November 6, 2007, the LADWP Board of Commissioners made the following selection of officers:
Board President: Nick Patsaouras
Board Vice-President: Edith Ramirez
The Board also voted on officers for its standing committees and those results can be viewed by clicking on LADWP Board Committees.
NOTIFICATION NO. 3 - 12th ANNUAL HOLIDAY LIGHT FESTIVAL
The LADWP Holiday Light Festival will be held from 5:00 to 10:00 p.m. nightly beginning November 21 through December 30, with a focus this year on conservation and making the event environmentally friendly.
In order to save energy and protect the environment, all lights have been converted to energy efficient and LED lights. The festival will be walking only (closed to car traffic) from November 21-25.
The third annual special preview "Bike Night" will be held on Monday, November 19 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., when the festival route will be closed to car traffic and open to cyclists only.

NOTIFICATION NO. 4 - LADWP BOARD AND PUBLIC WORKS BOARD JOINT MEETING ON WATER INTEGRATED RESOURCES PLAN AND WATER RECYCLING
As indicated in the notification sent on October 3, 2007, the LADWP Board of Commissioners and the Board of Public Works met on Saturday, October 6, 2007 regarding the Water Integrated Resources Plan (IRP) and Water Recycling.

NOTIFICATIONNO. 5 - LADWP SEAWATER DESALINATION PILOT PROJECT
LADWP is currently embarking on an evaluation effort to explore and pilot test seawater desalination technologies.
This technology testing effort is designed to study the feasibility of various seawater treatment technologies that are currently available and will pilot test the selected technologies over an 18-month period. The pilot testing site will be located within the Scattergood Power Generation facility in Playa Del Rey, California.
