I-405 Sepulveda Pass Widening Project - Notice of Night Construction x2

ATTENTION RESIDENTS IN THE VICINITY OF THE I-405 SEPULVEDA PASS WIDENING PROJECT As part of the pre-construction activities for the I-405 Sepulveda Pass Widening Project, the Contractor will be taking samples of the soil on streets running along the San Diego Freeway (I- 405). This night time activity requires street lane closures to facilitate the safe use of boring equipment.

What: Street closures and soil testing

When: Work is anticipated to start on Monday, July 20, 2009 for approximately one month.

Where: Day time closures; anticipated hours of construction are from 9:00am to 3:00pm. There will only be one closure at a time. Work is anticipated to start on Monday, July 20, 2009 to Wednesday, July 22, 2009.
• Right lane on northbound Sepulveda from Wilshire Blvd. to Constitution Ave. Closure will alternate with southbound closure.
• Right lane on southbound Sepulveda from Wilshire Blvd. to Constitution Ave. Closure will alternate with northbound closure.
• Left lane on northbound Sepulveda from Wilshire Blvd. to Constitution Ave. Closure will alternate with southbound closure.
• Left lane on southbound Sepulveda from Wilshire Blvd. to Constitution Ave. Closure will alternate with northbound closure. Work is anticipated to start on Thursday, July 23, 2009 to Friday, July 24, 2009.
• Right lane on westbound Wilshire from Veterans Ave. to Bonsall Ave.
• Right lane on eastbound Wilshire from Veterans Ave. to Bonsall Ave.
• Left lane on westbound Wilshire from Veterans Ave. to Bonsall Ave.
• Left lane on eastbound Wilshire from Veterans Ave. to Bonsall Ave.
• Center lane on eastbound Wilshire from Veterans Ave. to Bonsall Ave.
• Center lane on westbound Wilshire from Veterans Ave. to Bonsall Ave. Night time closures; anticipated hours of construction are from 9:00pm to 6:00am.
• Beloit Street from Santa Monica to Iowa Ave.; Monday, July 20, 2009
• Right lane on westbound Sunset from Thurston Ave. to Church St.; Monday, July 20, 2009
• Cotner St. from Santa Monica to Ohio Ave.; Tuesday, July 21, 2009.

What to expect:
• Local access to businesses and residences will be maintained.
• Pedestrians will be rerouted to a safe area outside the construction zone.
• Traffic will be reconfigured with one in each direction where allowable during the construction activity.
• Access to all on and off freeway ramps will be maintained.
• Emergency vehicle access will be maintained.

• Right lane on southbound Sepulveda from Getty/Sepulveda to Skirball; Monday, July 20, 2009 through Wednesday, July 22, 2009.
• Right lane closure on eastbound Skirball from Sepulveda to the Skirball/Mulholland northbound I-405 on-ramp; Tuesday, July 21, 2009.
