OK - so we are certainly not fans of tour buses or vans diving through our neighborhood creating traffic hazards and other mayhem, but Starlines new Westside (yellow) service is worth mentioning as a fun summer activity for our families or friends. (And let me highlight the fact that it does not enter Bel~Air.)
You may have already seen the new Starline Tours' double-decker red sightseeing buses looping through Beverly Hills and Hollywood -- but the official launch of the new Westwide "hop on, hop off" service is planned for Thursday.
Passengers in the open-air conveyances may hop on and off at 16 stops including Rodeo Drive, the Santa Monica Pier, Montana Avenue, the Third Street Promenade, the Hammer Museum in Westwood and the Brentwood Country Mart.
The Westside route is the latest in a network that also covers Hollywood, Beverly Hills and downtown Los Angeles. Tickets may be purchased for 24 or 48 hours. Prices vary, but a family pass (two adults and as many as three children) costs $90 for a single day.
