Much Better! New LA Marathon Route - Closer to Bel~Air than Ever

The Los Angeles Marathon has unveiled the "Stadium to the Sea" route for the 2010 race.

Talk of the new route first surfaced in July, when the Los Angeles City Council approved the "Stadium to the Sea" route as well as the measure to move the date of the race to March.

The route, which begins at Dodger Stadium and finishes in Santa Monica, can be seen in a Google Map of the route on the marathon's Web site.

The route will go past several area landmarks, such as Grauman's Chinese Theater, Los Angeles City Hall and the intersection of Hollywood and Vine.

The 25th Los Angeles Marathon will be run on March 21, 2010. The event is owned by Frank McCourt, who also owns the Los Angeles Dodgers.
