ATTENTION COMMUTERS, RESIDENTS, AND BUSINESSES IN THE VICINITY OF THE
SAN DIEGO FREEWAY (I-405) AND SKIRBALL CENTER DRIVE
The schedule for the freeway closures regarding the construction of the temporary sidewalk along the
south side of the Skirball Bridge has been revised. For approximately two weeks, there will be some
directional freeway closures, freeway lane closures, and ramp closures during the late night hours. In
addition, the Skirball Bridge will be reduced to one lane in each direction during the night time hours.
The table below demonstrates the revised anticipated schedule of the freeway closures.
What: Freeway closures to support construction of a temporary sidewalk along the south side
of the Skirball Bridge.
When: Nighttime work will last for approximately two weeks, weather permitting.
Where: Skirball Bridge and the I-405 freeway.
Anticipated Dates of Closures Type and times of Freeway Closures
September 9 Northbound #4 and #5 lanes from 10 pm to 6 am and
the Northbound Skirball off-ramp from 9 pm to 6 am
September 10 and 11 Northbound directional freeway closure from Getty
Center Dr. to Ventura Blvd. from 12 am to 5 am
September 13 Northbound #1 and #2 lanes from 10 pm to 6 am
Southbound #1 and #2 lanes from 10 pm to 6 am
September 14 and 15 Southbound directional freeway closure from Valley
Vista to Getty Center Dr. from 12 am to 5 am and
Northbound #1 and #2 lanes from 10 pm to 6 am
September 16, 17, and 18 Southbound #3, #4, and #5 lanes from 10 pm to 6 am
What to Expect:
Access and traffic will be maintained on Skirball Center Dr. with a lane in each direction during
construction. Lane closures are anticipated to occur from 9 pm to 6 am.
The southbound Skirball Center Drive on- and off-ramps may be closed on some nights during
construction from 9 pm to 6 am.
Emergency vehicle access will be maintained.
