From CurbedLA: $6,000 penalty for every 10 minutes the 405 is not reopened on time...

We're trying not to go to crazy with all the overblown stories about Carmageddon (the 405 construction closure during the weekend of July 16-17), but this one couldn't be avoided. The Encino Patch reports that the project's contractor, Kiewit Pacific Co, will face a fine of 6G for every 10 minutes the freeway remains closed after 6 a.m. on Monday, June 18--that's$72,000 an hour. No pressure, though. *It's 6K for every 10 minutes each side is closed, hence $72G/hour. [Encino Patch]
