I-405 / SKIRBALL BRIDGE Update

ATTENTION RESIDENTS AND BUSINESS IN THE VICINITY OF THE SKIRBALL CENTER DR
BRIDGE AND THE I-405 SAN DIEGO FREEWAY

As part of the reconstruction of the northern half of the Skirball Bridge, the contractor will begin to
construct deck panel on the bridge, which will require a full freeway closure in one direction for four
consecutive nights starting the night of Monday, July 11, 2011, weather permitting. Each night, ramps
within the freeway closures limits will begin to close as early as 7:00 pm and freeway lanes will begin to
close as early as 10:00 pm, leading up to the full directional freeway closure between the hours of 12:00
am, midnight, to 5:00 am. This activity is anticipated to require the closure of Skirball Bridge for those
four nights as well between the hours of 10:00 pm to 6:00 am.

What: Construction of deck panels on the Skirball Bridge requiring a full directional freeway
closure and the closure of the Skirball Bridge for four consecutive nights.

When: Work is anticipated to start on the night of Monday, July 11, 2011, and it is anticipated to
last for a total of four nights. Each night, ramps within the freeway closures limits will
begin to close as early as 7:00 pm and freeway lanes will begin to close as early as 10:00 pm,
leading up to the full directional freeway closure between the hours of 12:00 am, midnight,
to 5:00 am. The Skirball Bridge will be closed from 10 PM and 6 AM each night.

 Sepulveda Blvd. will remain open during the nights of this operation and will be used as a detour

 Emergency access will be maintained on the bridge at all times.

 Pedestrians will be rerouted to an area outside of the construction zone.
