New Planning Department Applications Filed in Bel-Air



Dear Bel-Air Association Members and Community,

New applications have been filed with the the developers of the 3 major homes on Tortuoso Way (across Stone Canyon Road from the Hotel Bel-Air) filed applications on November 25 for zoning variances to have 3 kitchens in each home, instead of the 1 kitchen that is permitted. The 3 cases are:

 1. 780 Tortuoso Way, a zone variance for 3 kitchens in a 51,029 square-foot single-family dwelling on a 199,372 square-foot lot located in the RE20-1-H zone, in lieu of the permitted 1 kitchen per dwelling. 2.       At 788 Tortuoso Way, a zone variance for 3 kitchens in a 48,998 square-foot single-family dwelling on a 130,225 square-foot lot located in the RE20-1-H zone, in lieu of the permitted 1 kitchen per dwelling. 3.       At 800 Tortuoso Way, a zone variance for 3 kitchens in a 56,782 square-foot single-family dwelling on a 128,171 square-foot lot located in the RE20-1-H zone, in lieu of the permitted 1 kitchen per dwelling. Additionally, the owner of 11475 Thurston Circle has filed a plan approval application on November 18 for an addition of landscape structures (exterior trellis, expansion of pool equipment shed, additional basement storage areas, and enlargement of yard retaining walls) that do not exceed 1,000 square feet to structures built prior to August 1, 2010.
